Seminars, Workshops and Posters

A seminar paper is a presentation of no more than 20 minutes (15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion) on a specific topic and it allows for a brief overview of the major points / highlights of a particular project or programme.  Four to six seminar papers with a shared focus will be grouped together as a seminar, with a seminar leader who is not a presenter.  Time is allowed for questions, answers, and sometimes debate.

A workshop is an interactive session – during which at least half of the allocated period is dedicated to audience participation, exchange of ideas or skills – with one or more presenters who are experts in the subject they are presenting.  It is not an academic lecture.

Poster presentations are visual displays of material to be presented and constitute an interactive medium.
